An overview of SEAtSbot on Microsoft Teams

SEAtS integration with Microsoft Teams lets you search for and retrieve Student records in Teams chat using the SEAtS bot. SEAtS end users, once logged in through Single Sign On, can view a list of supported commands to be sent as text message in your SEAtS bot chat, which will return the following information pertaining to a student

Student summary data

When a staff user posts a message to the SEAtS bot containing the students number and supported command (Student [StudentNumber] or Student [StudentNumber] Info) , the SEAtS bot will return an adaptive card containing a summary of information about the student, i.e. Full Name and student number [hyperlinked to SEAtS student details]; student type; email; list of courses; last physical swipe; last online, attendance and workflow stages info for the last 7 days.

Student attendance data

When a staff user posts a message to the SEAtS bot containing the students number and supported command (Student [StudentNumber] Attendance), the SEAtS bot will return an adaptive card containing a summary of information about the student, i.e. Full name and student number [hyperlinked to SEAtS student details]; student type; email; list of active modules; list last e.g. 10 student schedules with the following data:

  • red/green up/down check icon corresponding to attendance/absence
  • timestamp in format x hours/days/etc ago
  • lesson type
  • attendance status
  • 7-day attendance

Student case history

When a staff user posts a message to the SEAtS bot containing the students number and supported command (Student [StudentNumber] Stages) The SEAtS bot will return information about the student’s case history, ie. Full Name and student number [hyperlinked to SEAtS student details]; student type; email; list of active workflows; list of last 10 stage changes with the following data

  • red/green up/down arrow icon corresponding to stage move. Green down arrow when stages are equal.
  • timestamp in format x hours/days/etc. ago
  • stage from
  • stage to

List of supported commands

When a staff user posts a message to the SEAtS bot that does not contain a recognised command, the SEAtS bot will return a list of supported commands. For example, If the user does not specify a student number for an otherwise recognised command, the SEAtS bot will prompt the user for the student number and then proceed as normal once the user has provided it.
